You most probably might be wondering What are Mandalas?The word Mandala means “circle”.  A Mandala is something which stands for wholeness, a diagram that reminds us of our relation to infinity, that extends beyond and within our minds and bodies. Mandala appears to us in almost all the aspects of life including the Earth, Sun, Moon and more evidently the circles of life encompassing family, friends and communities. Mandalas are designs that symbolize the belief that life is never ending. The most important use of Mandalas are for meditation purposes that allows individuals meditating to become one with universe. There are not a lot of people who are able to gain this state of mind from simply studying mandala. The symbolism behind creation of mandala can have notable meaning for most people whether they are Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Pagan or they belong to any other religion.

Mandalas can also be created by individuals so they could symbolize their journeys through life. Mandalas can tell a story about where the individual has been.  In other cases they will reveal individual’s path in life.  Group of people can also create mandalas that reveals what they should be doing to grow and develop as a group.

Use of Mandala
There are a lot of uses for a Mandala.  The design of mandala is claimed to be visually attractive to absorb the mind in a way that annoying thoughts might not be able to get through and a spiritual essence surrounds the individual that is observing the mandala, that in turn allows the individual a better consciousness or awareness, as though being hypnotized. This also allows busy minds to take a break while at the same time the creative minds are allowed to run free. So, mandala is also primarily used as a sort of meditation to obtain knowledge from within.
